about US

The Hoovinahole Foundation was established in 2011 by Mr. Nandi J Hoovinahole, a dedicated social worker with a vision to enhance the lives of underprivileged children, youth, and women in rural Karnataka. It commenced its efforts by distributing educational kits to students in government schools in Village Hoovinahole, Mr. Nandi's place of origin and the inspiration behind the foundation. His altruistic initiatives garnered support from others, leading to the foundation's expansion. In 2015, the foundation was officially registered with four others - Chandrashekar N, Manju M Doddamani, Nagarathna, and M T Govindaraju - and established its headquarters in Bengaluru.

The foundation collaborates with various individuals, corporate entities, and partners nationwide to achieve its goals. Over the years, it has consistently worked towards improving government schools across Karnataka. To date, it has renovated 42 government schools and provided essential infrastructure to over 30 government schools with the backing of corporate sponsors like Pwc India, TEKsystems Global Services, Riverbed Technology India, ECI, Evora IT Solutions, MHS, Motocare India, SLK Software, SANAS AI, Atos Global IT Solutions and Services, Tejas Software among others, through CSR funding. Additionally, the foundation furnishes educational resources, conducts training programs, offers skill-based career guidance, organizes activity-based learning initiatives, and science-related activities, supporting the tribal community, women's employment programs, youth empowerment programs, and cultural events at these schools and rural areas.

The foundation takes pride in supporting a Para athlete who secured a silver medal for India in 2021 and a powerlifting athlete who clinched three gold medals for the country in 2022. As part of its skill-based education interventions, the foundation has established a permanent skill center at the Hoovinahole village Government Higher Primary School campus, equipped with state-of-the-art computers and digital facilities, overseen by three dedicated personnel. This initiative aims to benefit students from four government schools and the youth of Hoovinahole. The Hoovinahole Foundation envisions a society where all children, youth, and women are empowered through education, skills training, and community support.
